Residentials
Here at Young Carers we are able to provide opportunities to have a much needed break away from caring responsibilities. We work with some amazing residential centres including:
Petty Pool -
Set in 40 acres of Cheshire woodland, Petty Pool Outdoor Centre provides safe activity programmes for day or residential visits.
Whether a business, educational or community group, our fully trained staff will take care of you.
We accommodate groups of up to 32 people and provide bespoke programmes of activity designed to suit your needs. All activities are risk assessed and updated on a regular basis.
Lindley Education -
The Trust delivers multi day programmes from residential sites across the Derbyshire Peak District. Our primary base is The Hollowford Centre (up to 140 beds, ensuite facilities and fully catered) where we are open year round.
CAFT -
CAFT helps children of all abilities aged 17 and under, children who through no fault of their own miss out on the normalities of childhood. 12 of our Secondary Young Carers attended the CAFT residential (The Children's Adventure Trust Farm). This is a residential based in Altrincham and runs from Friday - Sunday. There is a lot on offer on the site and that can be found below.
They have a 10-acre site which is the perfect place for children to create, explore and play. On the site, our YC's had the chance to let loose on the playground, explore the small 'zoo' that they have which included alpacas and donkeys, a chill out room for the evening & an inflatable bouncy castle!
All of the above is done over the weekend and gives our Young Carers plenty of time to decide what they want to do and when they want to do it.
Honeypot -
Since 1996 Honeypot has been working to enhance the lives of young carers aged 5-12 years by providing respite breaks. We have had the pleasure of attending these breaks since 2022 and our Young Carers have absolutely loved going!
Our more resent visit saw 12 of our Young Carers attending in August 2023. On this residential, Young Carers have the opportunity to have a break from their caring role and essentially, allow them to be a child for the weekend without any worries.
Our Young Carers have the chance to have some free time to play on the grounds, get involved with arts & crafts, go for a swim in their new swimming pool & settle down for a movie night!
Throughout their time there, the Honeypot staff rewarded our Young Carers with certificates and a present at the end of their stay.
