Wellbeing / Family Support

Once you have been referred to St Helens Young Carers Centre, one of our Young Carer Wellbeing Support team will be in contact with you to arrange an ‘assessment’, This can be over the phone or in person, we will work however you prefer.

Our assessment is just to go through your current situation, get to know you and about your caring role. From this we can make sure we are the right service for you and offer you a package of support.

When you are registered with STHYCC you will be able to access the following ongoing support as and when you need it from our Young Carer Wellbeing team:

  • Reviews of your caring role – Sometimes circumstances can change, please let us know and we can review your caring role to offer you a new tailored package of support.

  • Ongoing wellbeing Support – If you are struggling emotionally, or you have a problem you just don’t know how to deal with. Please contact us and we can support you or point you in the right direction.

  • Working with others – We can link in with school or other services when needed.

  • Signposting - We can point you in the direction of other services that may be able to support with specific needs.

  • Emergency Planning – We can offer emergency planning work to make sure you know what to do in an emergency situation.

  • Young Adult Support – We offer tailored support for Young Adult Carers, this can include employability, cv work, and further education.

If you are unsure, just contact us and we can see how we can support you!
